A Quick Reminder …
Gotta give ya a quick reminder:
By now, ya know the Relic drops everything … welll, most things; the boxers stay on … at 12:45 in the AM to take in the latest episode of Craig Ferguson’s shenanigans. This dude is not only the most laid-back and truly hilarious of the late-nighters, but he really knows how to do a sincere interview! I’ve said it before: The Scotsman (soon to be U. S. citizen!) really rocks!!
Be sure to tune yer antenna (or cable channel, if you’ve paid the bill) to your local CBS affiliate on Friday night, when one of his guests will be … Ringo Starr (remember him? Usedta be with some Sixties group … made a few records that sold okay?). Somehow, the zaniness of both these guys oughtta make for a blockbuster show (in fact, maybe, in time, Blockbuster will have it for rent on DVD. Who knows??).
The former Beatle (incidentally, that song they did just before the Love You instrumental on the Abbey Road LP [Carry That Weight] is said to be the guys’ realization that they were always gonna be a ”Beatle”, even long after their break-up) will undoubtedly promo his All-Starr Band, Zak, and the new Liverpool 8 CD and gig on the St. George Church’s rooftop.
Incidentally, if you remember Rick Springfield’s You’re Never Too Old (To Rock and Roll), you’ll see livin’ proof of it with the Ringed One and Paul McCartney. Y’see, Richard Starkey is now 97 …..
minus 30 … to Paul’s 65 (MAN, I luv the trix u can play on this thing!) –
and they both can tear the house down wherever they play! (I’ve picked up a new fave from Ringo, btw: While I always dug It Don’t Come Easy, I dig the concept and sound of Lah-De-Dah. Smooth as hot maple syrup over a stack of mornin’ pancakes, that one!)
So, stay tuned … also, get ready for an update on the last Beatle LP actually recorded by the Fab Four. Until then, remember to keep your eyes on the skies, your feet on the ground, your heart with the music … and I’ll see ya on the flip side o’ thangz …
