MPHFFPH!! (Hang on while I swallow this last bit of crow, okay?)
Listen … I wanna do a big apology for slippin’ a bit over the past coupla weeks. Y’see, between rebuilding the PC, tendin’ to my fave whiskerlicker as she was passing, tending to a mess of newborn kittens (none of which made it over a coupla days, sadly), catchin’ up on my other job (writing business reviews) and recovering from a wreck (a bike smash-up … I was doin’ some pedalin’ for a bit of fresh air when a [can you believe this?] pretty lady waved at me! Of course, I waved back, then made a jackass of myself as a lamp post reached out, grabbed my bike, pulled it over the curb and right into it! Nose-first … which now only hurts when I breathe through it … and a bit of scar on my forehead). Total plantings for the week: One cat, five kittens, one bike …
Ahhh, well … remember the refrain from Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da? Right … life goes on.
And we’re gonna go on with this vid I found of the Everlys (the whole family!) circa 1951. Here, you’ll catch Don and Phil in their earliest teens, showing the start of their legendary harmonies:
ROCK NEWS
Steven Tyler (Aerosmith) told reporters yesterday that he checked into rehab eight days ago to find a safe place to recover from recent foot surgeries and also to do physical therapy.
Steve Binder, who produced Elvis’s 1968 “comeback TV special” — plans to do a movie about The King’s manager, Colonel Tom Parker. The movie will also touch on Parker’s life in his native Holland his start as a carny and his management of the late Eddy Arnold.
A BIT OF FRY AND LAURIE
In this clip, the madcap duo talk a bit about language in Tricky Linguistics:
WHAT’S COMING UP
Pure overdrive, as the lads from Kent are inching closer and closer to that coveted recording contract. There’s also a lot more goin’ on in the ForeFront, and I’ll keep ya posted, starting next ish!
There’s gonna be a lot more, so be sure to stay tuned for a special Saturday edition. Until then, remember:
Keep your eyes on the skies, your feet on the ground, your heart with the music … and I’ll see ya on the flip side!
