The Fore LIVE at the G2 (and MORE!)
Okay, Foreheads, here’s the vid you’ve been askin’ me for … direct from the G2 show …
THE FORE performing “YOU’LL BE MINE”:
Now … you’ve heard the lads — and seen their vids — now meet them yourself as well as learn the history of the band (at least, to this point! The best, as they say, is yet to come!) This Adobe PDF® download will also give you other goodies: what the press has to say about ‘em, as well as parts of recent Rolling Stone™ and USA TODAY® articles about the renewed interest in 60’s BritRock!
THE EVERLY BROTHERS — THAT’LL BE THE DAY
Man, talk about an oldies rush: Hearin’ the Relic’s fave duo, Don and Phil, doin’ the Buddy Holly classic, That’ll Be The Day! (incidentally, Didja Know that Phil Everly was one of the pallbearers at Buddy’s funeral?)
Anyway, here’s the classic in all its glory:
IT HAPPENED ON MAY 9 (1970)
The song that insulted a lot of stateside gals, the Guess Who’s American Woman, was born. Here’s what happened:
After he’d broken a string, Guess Who guitarist Randy Bachman started playin’ a heavy rhythm riff on stage and the band (who’d taken a break) began jamming with him on it. Singer Burton Cummings then started singing whatever came to mind.
Well, a fan taped it all and gave it to the band after the show. They listened, and built the rest of the song around it (natch, it was a biiiiig hit … even among those ever-lovin’, easy-forgivin’ American Women!)
And, with that, we’re gonna take a break for the nightly snooze … but I’ll be back with more in less than 24! So, until then …
Keep your eyes on the skies, your feet on the ground, your heart with the music … and I’ll see ya on the flip side!
