Here’s what’s goin’ on in the Classic Rock world as-we-speak (this news is fresh! Unwrapped! Baked Thursday night!)
The Rolling Stones are doin’ a documentary called Shine A Light, and its soundtrack is gonna be released in CD format by Universal Music Group (through the group’s Polydor Records in England). Martin Scorcese’s the director of the rockdoc.
Word’s finally out on what killed Ike Turner. Though he did have cardiovascular disease and emphysema, the main COD was … can ya guess? Right … “cocaine toxicity” is what the coroner’s report said. Y’know, that cat spent, in his own estimation, about 11 million on dope in the ’70s and ’80s!
And Heather Mills — naaaah …. tell me she didn’t!!:
Yup … Miss Priss herself, the great not-so-Lady Heather, hired a detective to snoop in on Macca! Said she wanted to prove that Paul was a heavy drinker! (Geez … after livin’ with her wallet-suckin’ shenanigans and rants for so long, a lot of us are surprised he didn’t do more!) Dunno how that’s gonna fit into the mix about this divorce, but we’ll soon find out!
btw (talkin’ about Sir Paul), it turns out that he and present squeeze Lulu are workin’ on an album together! He’s co-producing, though, and not harmonizing, musically. These two are a definite fit …
The Searchers (see previous post) are gonna be playin’ America again! Later this year, they’re booked in places as diverse as the House of Blues in Atlantic City (April) and Walt Disney World (Epcot Center) in Orlando (May).
