Top Vid, The Fore, and the Power of Music
For ages now, The Relic’s toldja that music has power! But, if ya need proof, here it is:
A girl remembered the lyrics to a song (one that her mother taught her) when she called 911 recently. Y’see, her mom had fainted and needed medical attention immediately. It wasn’t the first time she’d had to do that (again, thanx to the song), but it’s newsworthy because the girl …
was just … three years old!
The song? A little ditty her mom made up to teach the youngster what to do in the event of an emergency. It won’t be long before “911 Green” (the color of the “send” button on most cell phones) becomes a hit — and rightly so …
THE FORE HITS #1!
That’s right, yardbirds! The band’s famous dog-gone vid (watch it below and see what I mean) has become Video of the Week at Radio Caroline in the UK!
DIDJA KNOW that Radio Caroline was partly responsible for saving UK Rock back-in-the-day? Y’see, the BBC had banned all R&R from its airwaves for a few years, and, thanx to a pirate radio station called Radio Caroline, kids were still able to dance, rock and rave to their faves!! Without it, according to one of my UK sources, rock bands would’ve possibly flickered out!
STEVE MILLER CHECKMATES!
The dude from Swingtown (not the TV show — the song), The Joker himself, Steve Miller, has just hired on a new member of the band: Sonny Charles, singer with Checkmates, Ltd. (they did a song called Black Pearl) will also sing backup in three cuts from Steve’s new CD, due out soon.
Should be an unbeatable combo: Sonny’s silky soul and Steve’s steamin’ sounds should come together perfectly!
THE WINNING VIDEO
Okay … here, you can see why Love for Sale is #1. Keep an eye on Flea, the pooch:
Well, that’s it for this episode! Now, since Uncle Relic won’t be headin’ south like he’d planned (sorry … lonnnnng story!), just bring yer eyes and ears back here later tonight — in fact, bring the rest of you with ‘em!!
Until then, remember:
Keep your nose in the wind, your eyes on the skies, your heart with the music … and I’ll see ya on the flip side!
